Canada is my home. I have seen a fair amount of it but there is still so much to explore. In my opinion, the best time to travel around Canada is between May and October. Everyone else seems to think this too so there are always lots of people on the roads, in the campgrounds and at the attractions.
Getting to/from
Currently, our closest airport is Vancouver. We use to live in Ontario and the Toronto airport is a major hub with the majority of flights coming and going from here and linking up to other internal flights.
Canada is large. It takes more than 2 days of driving just to cross Ontario so keep that in mind when planning where you would like to visit.
Entry Requirements
Australian, New Zealand and UK citizens require an Electronic Travel Authority before flying to Canada. If arriving by car or boat you do not need this.
It costs $7 CAD for the ETA and is valid for the duration of your passport.
American citizens require a valid US passport.
DID YOU KNOW? – Some countries require you to show proof of onward travel before you enter their country. This is often left up to the airlines to enforce and you will not be allowed to board the plane unless you show them proof you are leaving.
