Wait a second . . . there are bugs here?

Since work was taking me to Port Hardy on Sunday we decided to load the tent into gypsy wagon to explore town on Saturday and camp overnight to avoid having to take a 7:20am ferry. Port Hardy is about a half hour north and with a population of 4000, we thought it would have a wider variety of shopping available. I guess this is true but I just wasn’t feelin the vibe in this town.

This is where you would catch the ferry to Prince Rupert which we would like to do one day but it is a long journey and not all that dog friendly.

It rained off and on all day but we wandered around a little.

Finally settled in for the night at a really nice campground right where I would be working the next day. The salmon were running in the river and there were black bear and cougar sightings but we didn’t encounter any on our stay. We cooked up a gourmet freeze dried dinner and settled in for a night of blood loss from hundreds of tiny no-see-ums.

Sunday was full of beautiful sunshine and a lot more bugs to bite me. I look like I have chicken pox with all these itchy bumps on me. I am not impressed.
